The Zemu story

Chris Sutton founded Zemu in March 2010 and teamed up with Katryna Dow the following year.  Our partnership was formed through a shared interest in innovation and positively impacting people’s lives.

We each have significant experience in starting and nurturing businesses combined with a passion for creating great customer experiences.

With numerous opportunities on the table, we used Blue Ocean Strategy to distill ideas and focus on one concept that we believe has the greatest likelihood to change the online world. We are confident that the strategy we are commercialising will make everyday life more simple and to be sought after globally.

Our four guiding principles are:

  • What can we create – what part of the idea is totally unique?
  • What can we reduce – given technology and a post GFC economy what could be substantially reduced to benefit people?
  • What can we raise – how could we create something well above the industry standard in the chosen sector?
  • What can we eliminate – what do people take for granted that we could eliminate?

And...to keep us on our toes we wanted an idea that would help people find answers and make decisions to lead a better way of life. Through this process we refined the concept for our launch start-up, called - Z1.

Right now

Z1 is our focus.  To make it happen we have assembled an amazing team including an advisory board of individuals who have each achieved incredible things in their personal and professional lives.  What unites our team of advisors is that they each have created outstanding results in starting private, public and listed companies.

The Zemu name

Zemu Glacier is the largest and the most famous glacier of the eastern Himalayas. Zemu is base camp for great enterprises. Our experience tells us that regardless of good planning we are likely to encounter a host of challenges along the way.  We understand that to help others successfully set-out on their entrepreneurial journey, we need to have first blazed the trail ourselves.
